Well since the last race update FTP Training riders have been smashing out some top performances in all disciplines all over the World.
Over in Dalby Forrest and the first World Cup race of the year young Rebecca Henderson in her first senior race moved up from a starting position in the 100’s to finish 61st and ahead of notable riders such as Gunn Rita Dahle, well done Bec a great start to your first senior year of World Cups.
Also abroad in South Africa Steve Forster has continued to improve and has won his first Enduro Super Classic well done mate a result for all your hard work.
Closer to home and riders have been smashing it, on the road FTP rider Mick “Tarmac” Troy was in the thick of the action in B grade at the Canberra Tour and was in second place after 2 stages only to crash at a feed and have to chase back on to finish 4th. Great work mate and massive numbers. Michael was helped by 11th overall FTP rider Damo Mason who as usual rode a strong and consistent race to just miss out on a top 10.
Becky Mates is very new to MTB’s sister of Olympic Snowboarder Ben Mates she is a young woman who is going to start winning a fair few more races mark my words. Becky smashed the Dirt Works 50km in a time of 2 hours and 3 seconds that is very fast and would have placed her in the top 6 in the men’s category!!!! Look out elite girls ;o)
In the 24 hour Nationals FTP Training had 7 podiums across the different categories. Garry James and Diane Perry won the 45 – 49 age group, Jason McAvoy was 2nd in 35 – 39 and Richard Peil 2nd in 40 – 44 with Jeff Rooney 3rd Jacqui Kennett was 3rd in the 35 – 39 age group and 4th overall after backing up winning the Terra Aus with Melinda Behrens. Mark “Tupac” Tupalski won the 6 + 6 smashing out fast consistent laps.
Locally on the road Team FTP Training has been winnning lots of things with the last race being the Teams Time Trial great work team lets keep on smashing it.
Well done all great work.
